A Reminder that weed is still illegal in Kansas no matter where you are coming from when stopped by law enforcement

Possession of weed is still illegal in Kansas. If charged with simple possession (personal use) only, then you will not get arrested unless you have other legal issues pending. Otherwise, you will be released and will have a court date to answer to the charge. In many cases, I can work out a "pay and release" wherein you pay a fine and your case is closed. Or, you will have the option to apply for diversion which involves taking a drug class and maybe random UA tests to determine if you're still using weed.
