Matt McLane was born in Topeka, Kansas, and moved to Pittsburg, Kansas, at the age of 10. He graduated from Pittsburg High in 1988 as a scholar athlete and attended Pittsburg State University on football and academic scholarships. He earned a business degree from the Kelce School of Business in 1992. Upon graduation, he moved to Topeka, Kansas, where he attended Washburn University School of Law. It was during this period when he met his wife, Krista, who was a nursing student at Baker University. Upon graduation in 1996, Mr. McLane moved to Overland Park and worked for a small firm in KCMO handling traffic and DUI cases. In April 2011, he opened the McLane Law Firm in Overland Park and has expanded his practice to include all types of criminal cases. He continues to represent clients in Missouri as well, often appearing in Jackson, Platte, and Clay County courts.
Mr. McLane is married and has two daughters who attend University of Arkansas school of business. He remains active in cycling and enjoys vacationing in Breckenridge, Colorado.
