MIP amended to Consumption of Liquor in Public
December 2017
Client had prior MIP conviction. On 2nd offense in less than two years, I negotiated a plea that allowed my client to plead guilty to Consumption of alcohol in public with a fine of $200. The reduced charge allows the client to avoid the mandatory 90 days suspension of his license that is ordered by the state on a 2nd MIP conviction. The client was placed on unsupervised probation for 6 months meaning no required drug or alcohol testing normally associated with diversions or supervised probation.
